Cleopatra as the Good Fairies
Lead singer Cleo Higgins, who has most recently starred in the West End, National, and International tours of Thriller Live, will be joined by her sisters Zainam and Yonah, to reform as Cleopatra, as they play Sleeping Beauty’s three good fairies. In the 90’s, Cleopatra had a string of top five hit songs, plus their own sitcom, Cleopatra Comin’ Atcha, on ITV.
They supported the Spice Girls on their sell out Spice World tour, and even performed for Pope John Paul II, backed by a 100-piece orchestra, at an event that was broadcast worldwide. The band has reformed a handful of times since then. In 2005 they appeared on ITV’s Hit Me, Baby, One More Time, and also on the TV show Pop Goes The Band in 2009.
In 2013 Cleo auditioned for BBC1’s The Voice. All of the coaches turned around for her, she eventually chose to join will.i.am’s team. Cleo then battled her way through to the Semi Finals. She left the show with a explosive performance for everyone to remember her by. Her last performance on The Voice also landed her a nomination for Best Act at the The National Reality TV awards 2013.
Yonah went on to teach dance and became a youth assistant. Yonah is a mother of two and currently studying Environmental Management at university hoping to become a Environmental Consultant once she has graduated. She is very excited to join her sisters in this year’s Christmas pantomime in Gravesend and can’t wait to work with the amazing cast and production team.
Zainam works as a TV presenter and model and is currently working as a songwriter in Notting Hill. Most recently she’s been shooting a music based tv series, That Show with M.A.C.E.
This will be Cleopatra’s second Christmas with Gravesend Panto producers, having made their debut in Sevenoaks last year.
